Jacob received his law degree from Baylor Law School. While at school, he focused on honing his legal writing and oral argument skills. He won the 2017 M.D. Anderson Foundation Spring Moot Court Competition and awarded 5th-best speaker in a field that included over one hundred other competitors. Jacob also participated in Baylor’s School of the Advocate at St. Andrews, Scotland, earning high marks for his speech and writing.
In practice, Jacob has used these skills to effectively advocate on behalf of his clients and he has successfully defended against motions for summary judgment, to exclude retained experts, to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction, and various other legal issues. Jacob has experience at every stage of a personal injury suit: resolving cases through settlement before litigation or at mediation, drafting petitions and other pleadings, engaging in the discovery process, and trial by jury. He applies every bit of this experience and skill to every client’s case and is unafraid to fight for his client’s rights, no matter the battleground.
Outside of the office, Jacob most enjoys reading books, studying the Bible, playing golf, and walking his dog. He is the proud husband of Angela Fisher, a Captain in the US Air Force and an excellent attorney in her own right. Their daughter, Spencer, lights up the room wherever she goes and brings incalculable joy. Faith and family mean everything to Jacob, and he tries to engage clients in his capacity as a counselor, bringing a holistic approach to representing clients rather than the single-minded pursuit of legal goals.
